KOREAN BEEF RICE BOWLS
INGREDIENTS:
- 1.5 kilo (3.3lbs) ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 inch spice of ginger, minced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 scallions (whites), thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
FOR THE SAUCE:
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sriracha (or less)
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- Thinly sliced Chili’s and scallion greens for garnish. Rice for serving
Cooking steps
Step 1
Heat a large pot over medium high heat add oils, garlic, ginger and scallions. Once fragrant add beef and salt. Use wooden spoon to break up. While beef is cooking make the sauce buy combining all the ingredients in a small bowl. Once the beef is cooked through add the sauce. Mix well to coat. Cook for another 4 minutes to allow beef to slightly caramelize. Shut off heat and serve hot over rice like we did or in a taco or wrap with all the fixings! I like to garnish the bowl with chilis and scallions!
