REALLY EASY, KID FRIENDLY, NO FRIDGE HAMANTASCHEN DOUGH
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 cups flour
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- Jam, chocolate spread, pb for filling.
Cooking steps
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°f, line a baking sheet with parchment and stick your jam in the fridge!
Step 2
Add eggs, oil, sugar, vanilla, OJ and salt to mixer. Mix. Add in flour and baking powder. Mix until a smooth but pliable dough forms (should feel like play dough). Sometimes the air affects things and if your dough feels sticky add 1-2 tbsp additional flour. If it feels a drooop oily that’s fine. Divide dough in half or thirds. Roll out one piece on a piece of parchment paper. Use glass or cookie cutter to cut out circles. Add 1-2 tsp of jam (depending on size of your circle) to the center. Pinch to sides to create a corner. Pinch next to sides to create the corners and voila, hanataschen. Place on baking sheet. Repeat. Bake for 12-15 min until just lightly golden on the edges (unless you like them crispier than bake longer). Remove, cool for 6 min in the pan. Remove to cooling rack to cool completely. That’s it.
Step 3
Happy Purim!
