Brisket
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 second cut brisket
- 1 Tbsp kosher salt
- 2 tsp coarse black pepper
- 2 Tbsp onion soup mix
- 6 cloves minced garlic
- 3 Tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup bourbon
- 2 cups water
Cooking steps
Step 1
Preheat oven to 165°c (325°f). Place brisket in pan. Add salt and pepper. Rib on both sides. Add garlic and tomato paste. Rub again. Top with sugar. Pour over bourbon and water. Make sure the fatty side is on top. Cover with parchment and foil. Bake covered for 3-4 hours. Check every 30 min after 3 hours. Cook until meat is fork tender. Shred and serve. Or chill, then slice, reheat and serve.
Step 2
Note: do not remove the meat from the sauce while it is cooling or it will dry out! It must cool down in the juices!!! Ok. Happy joy enhancing recipe everyone!
