have you ever been to an israeli wedding? or bar mitzvah? or bris? or business meeting? just kidding, i’ve never been to an israeli business meeting either. you get the point, though. no israeli social gathering that involves people sitting down to a table with a multi course meal is ever complete without something-wrapped-in-dough-smothered-in-mushroom-sauce dish. for years i didn’t get it and then one day, while sitting at my own multi course meal with Eli and my father, I brought up the mushroom-sauce-smothered dough-filled-with-something and they both informed me that it is their favorite part of any israeli meal! so, then this happened and now I’m fully on board.
