This dish really happened because eli and my boys do not like fish but moroccan fish is a friday night staple. I didn’t want them to miss out on my favorite part of the fish, the soft, saffron-y, stewed chickpeas that you smash your challah into. So i separated out the chickpeas, stewed them in a similar preparation to the fish, and lo and behold — guess who can’t go a friday night without them now? My girls! ! !
