  1. 2 cups flour
  2. 2 cups water
  3. 1 cup butter
  4. 2 tbsp sugar
  5. 1/2 tsp salt
  6. 6 eggs
  7. 2 c sugar
  8. 2 tbsp cinnamon
  1. Sift flour into a small bowl and set aside
  2. Crack eggs into a bowl and set aside
  3. In a medium sized pot, over medium high heat, combine water, butter, sugar and salt
  4. Stir until butter is melted
  5. Bring mixture to boil and immediately remove from heat
  6. Using a wooden spoon, quickly stir in flour until it comes away from the edges and forms a ball in the center of the pot
  7. Remove dough into a stand mixer
  8. On medium low speed add eggs one at a time waiting until each egg is incorporated before adding the next
  9. Place dough into piping bags or ziploc bags
  10. Snip off 1/4 inch of the end and pipe onto a parchment lined baking sheet in any shape
  11. Place baking sheet into freeze for at least 3 hours or over night
  12. In a small bowl combine cinnamon and sugar
  13. Set aside
  14. To cook churros, pour canola oil into a medium sized pot, filled half way, over medium heat until hot
  15. Fry churros in small batches so they don't over crowd the pot
  16. Leave the sheet pan in the freezer, and just remove the churros going directly into the pot
  17. (They will not peel off the parchment easily if they are not completely frozen)
  18. Once churros are golden, remove from oil and immediately place in cinnamon sugar mixture
  19. Set aside to cool for one minute and then enjoy!
  1. Alternatively, you can cook the churros right away. You won't be able to shape them but they will look more authentic. Just place dough in the piping bag and squeeze directly into oil using a knife to stop dough from coming out of piping bag when its the length you want.
